Click Export GeoJSON in the top right of the Map tab to download your device location and detection data as a .geojson file.

What is a GeoJSON file?

GeoJSON is a standard file format for storing geographic data. Your export includes each device's coordinates and detection summary, making it compatible with a range of mapping and GIS tools.

What can I do with it?

You can open your GeoJSON file in tools such as:

  • QGIS — free, open-source GIS software for detailed spatial analysis

  • ArcGIS — professional GIS software commonly used in environmental consulting

  • Google My Maps — import your devices onto a shareable Google Map

This is useful if you need to include device locations in a report, overlay your survey data with other spatial datasets such as land use or habitat maps, or share results with stakeholders outside of Alato Lab.
