How to use the (GeoJson) map in reports

The Device activity map gives you a geographic overview of your survey results. Each device is displayed as a pin at its recorded coordinates, sized by the number of detections recorded. High-activity locations stand out at a glance.

Hover (after zooming in) over any device to view:

  • Total number of detections

  • Breakdown by species category (e.g. Long-tailed, Short-tailed, Possible LT)

  • A chart showing detections per hour throughout the night

This makes it easy to compare activity levels across locations, identify which devices recorded the most bat activity, and spot patterns in nightly behaviour across your survey area.

Before you can view the map

Device coordinates must be added before your devices appear on the map. You can add coordinates in the Devices tab by editing each device and entering its latitude and longitude.
