# Setting up device coordinates

Device coordinates let you map where each device was placed during your survey.
Once added, you can see how many files were recorded per device, how many
detections were identified, and where those detections occurred.



Adding device locations lets you view them pinned on a map in the Reports tab.

HOW TO ADD COORDINATES

 1. Open your chosen survey.

 2. Navigate to the Devices tab.

 3. Click the "pencil" icon in the action section of the table on your chosen
    device.



 4. You can now edit your device information.

 5. Enter the latitude and longitude for the device. This can be done manually
    or copy & pasted.



 6. Click Save Changes.

 7. Repeat for each devices.

 8. View pinned devices in the Reports tab.




DO I HAVE TO SET UP COORDINATES?

No — coordinates are optional. You can still verify and modify detections and
view most of your reports, but the Device activity map will not be available to
use.
